Vitreous China.

Vitreous china is actually a specialized type of ceramic. While standard ceramic is a porous mixture of clay and minerals coated in a basic glaze, vitreous china is fired at higher temperatures and finished with a powdered glass enamel coating. This extra step melts the glaze into the clay body, creating a denser, non-porous, and highly glossy surface.
